Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Daal's mobile application, website, and all related services. Please read them carefully before using any Daal service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, accessing, or using the Daal application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. By using Daal, you represent that you are of legal age and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
3. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. Use of Services
You may use Daal services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to use our services for any fraudulent, illegal, or abusive purpose, or in any way that could harm Daal, its drivers, restaurant partners, or other users.
5. Food Delivery Services
Daal acts as an intermediary connecting you with local restaurants. We are not responsible for the quality, safety, or accuracy of food items prepared by restaurants. Any issues with food quality should be reported to us and we will facilitate resolution.
6. Ride Services
Daal provides a technology platform connecting passengers with independent driver partners. Drivers are not employees of Daal. By using Daal Ride, you agree to pay the fare shown at booking. Cancellation fees may apply after a driver is assigned.
7. Payments
All payments must be made through the app or in cash as indicated at checkout. We use secure third-party payment processors. By providing payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable amounts. All sales are final unless otherwise required by law.
8. Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation policies vary by service type. For food orders, cancellations after restaurant confirmation may not be eligible for refunds. For rides, free cancellation is available within 2 minutes of driver assignment. Refund eligibility is determined case-by-case.
9. Driver Terms
Drivers using the Daal platform agree to maintain their vehicle in safe, roadworthy condition; comply with all traffic laws; treat customers respectfully; and only accept trips when able to complete them safely. Violations may result in permanent removal from the platform.
10. Prohibited Conduct
Users must not attempt to hack or reverse-engineer the Daal platform; provide false information; use the platform for illegal activities; harass or threaten drivers, restaurant staff, or other users; or create fake accounts or reviews.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Daal platform — including the app, website, logos, text, and design — is owned by Daal and protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Daal shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
14. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of Daal after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
